Where’s My… (Sex Ed 101)
Kisses, 18 writes...
Is your clitoris suppose to be visible when you are aroused? I use to be able to see the pink on the clit when I was horny when I was very young like elementary school. But now that I'm older my clitoris is never visible no matter how aroused I am. I've tried everything including watching porn, I can be as wet as possible but my clit still is not visible. Is there normal? Is there something I can do about it?Brittany says...
Everyone's vagina is different and as you grow and get older, things change. This would be the reason why you were able to see your clitoris when you were younger and are having trouble now. For some women, as they get aroused, the clitoris will fill with blood and enlarge (much like the penis), however, it's not always the case and that doesn't mean it isn't normal. There might not be anything you can do about it because it's the way your body is built - aside from plastic surgery, of course, but is that really worth it? What you can do though, is next time you're at the doctor as him/her and explain the situation... but really, it might just be the way you are!

Can You Get Pregnant if You…. (Sex Ed 101)
Can you get pregnant from masturbating near or on objects that may have gotten sperm on them?Brittany says...
With objects that obviously have sperm on them? Yes. Near objects that have sperm on them? I'll go with no - unless you're rubbing your vagina with a sperm infused cloth or something.

Learn to Masturbate (Sex Ed 101)
Angelica, 23 writes...
Before my current boyfriend, I had never gone further than kissing. We've got to the point where he's started to finger me. Even though, I find it quite easy to get turned via other means, I don't seem to get anything out of fingering. At best, it's ok, but nothing special. I certainly enjoy the stuff leading up to it a lot more than that. I've tried masturbating myself, but I'm struggling to find anything that feels particularly good. I'm not sure what I can do to improve this.Brittany says...
This might seem like a weird suggestion, but buy some porn - watch a movie, read a magazine, go to a sex shop. A lot of men (and women) completely ignore the clitoris which is similar to the head of the penis - it's where most of the nerves are and where you'll get the best feeling. It's good that you're testing things out by yourself in the bedroom to figure out what you like, too, but definitely communicate with your boyfriend and tell him what feels good and what doesn't. If he's more experienced than you, he might even be able to help you out!Tags: sex, orgasm, masturbation, fingering
Masturbation Tools (Sex Ed 101)

So I'm 17 years old and I have been masturbating for about three years now. However, I am not old enough to purchase a dildo where I live. I am only able to satisfy myself with clitoral stimulation. I cannot orgasm from penetration with fingers (mine or anyone else's) and I don't want to have sex just yet. What can I do or what can I use since I can't get a dildo? Also, what things should I absolutely not use?JamieG says...
First off, most women cannot orgasm from penetration alone, so you're completely normal on that count. I don't know where you live, but in some stores, they sell 'personal massagers' that are essentially vibrators - but since they're not explicitly for sexual purposes, there's no age limit on buying them. Lube is always a good thing as well, and you don't have to be eighteen to buy that, either. I've heard of women masturbating using showerhead massagers and such, as well. As far as things you should absolutely not use... Really, I'm not sure if there are many things that go on that list. Make sure that whatever you're using is clean, to avoid infection. Also, if you're looking to insert anything, make sure that (a) it won't cause suction and (b) it can't break off... because either of those could end up with a rather awkward trip to the emergency room!Tags: masturbation
Keep it in the Toy Box! (Sex Ed 101)
embarrassed!, 24 writes...
Ack. Okay, I did a really *stupid* thing today. I was using my waterproof vibe in the shower while all my roommates were out of the house... being the dummy I am, I totally left it on the ledge of the bathtub, and didn't remember until hours and hours later when I went up to go to the bathroom. Now, it's a kind of realistic looking, hot pink vibe. It's noticeable, and I know at least two of them saw it. What am I going to do? How can I face them? What do I say if they ask about it? I am SO embarrassed!
Janet says...
Look, they're probably at least a little bit embarrassed too. In fact, the best thing to do is probably to do NOTHING. I know, as a woman you probably want to gush openly about your embarrassment, but this is one of those situations where the best reaction is to do nothing unless one of them approaches you. I doubt you're the only one in that house that masturbates and assuming that your roommates are about the same age as you I'm betting they've got vibrators too. At best they probably blushed a little and giggled. But they probably get it. Now move on and just don't talk about it!

Long Orgasms? (Sex Ed 101)
audrina, 15 writes...
Okay, so I need some advice. I started masturbating at like 13 or so, and the first time was amazing, but now sometimes my clit gets so sensitive like right as soon as I'm done, but I keep wanting more. My orgasm lasts like maybe about 3 seconds. How do I keep it lasting longer? I really want to have a long orgasm like one minute long.Brittany says...
It's totally normal for you to feel sensitive, whether you're a man or a woman. So don't fret. But unfortunately, we're humans and not pigs (apparently pigs have 10 minute orgasms?) and 3 seconds is totally normal and one minute is rather uncommon and not realistic at all.

No Orgasm? (Sex Ed 101)
summer, 15 writes...
Why can't I have a orgasm? Am I doing something wrong? When I masturbate, I rub myself on my clit and it just starts to hurt. I try to fantasize about stuff but it just never works. I've tried to use an eletric toothbrush but the vibrating dont even get me excited. I'm only 15, is there something wrong?
Brittany says...
Try to follow these steps:
1.) Relax.
2.) Take a deep breath.
3.) Think about something that turns you on.
4.) Be gentle(r).
5.) Don't get frustrated.
If this doesn't work, try again tomorrow.

I Think Masturbation is Wrong (Sex Ed 101)
Barb, 15 writes...
I found this website on Google, and so I need some advice. I'm 43 years old and I'm a virgin. I have never had anyone touch me down there and I've only masturbated once. I'm a christian and I believe that masturbation is wrong. But what can I do? Thanks.
Brittany says...
If your personal beliefs are that masturbation is wrong, it's not my job, nor place to convince you otherwise. If it goes against your religion and you choose not to do it, there's nothing wrong with that. From what you've told me, I'm assuming the only way to get around your beliefs would be to find a partner, and if you're looking for advice on that - head on over to Big Sister or Ask a Guy!

What’s in a Hymen? (Sex Ed 101)
idk, 16 writes...
So I think I have a hymen, but I'm not sure. It looks like one but it's more thick than I thought a hymen was supposed to look like. I can also touch it; it doesn't hurt, but I've never put pressure on it. I masturbate often, but not with more than 2 fingers. Does it sound like I still have one? I've tried looking, but I still have no clue.
Brittany says...
For a detailed picture of where your hymen is and what it would look like if it's in place - check out this picture from the Wikipedia page.
Now, what you should know is that your hymen really isn't important. Some people aren't even born with them, by some malfunction in their early stages of being in the womb. Anyways - you can tear your hymen when playing sports, horseback riding, or even using a tampon. Obviously, none of which involve sex or anything sex related.
I cannot tell you if you have a hymen or not. But the best thing I can suggest, is if you really would like to know - grab a mirror and check it out.
