Dreams About Family Retreats (Sweet Dreams)
ST, 20 from US writes...
So, in my dream I was at what seemed like a family retreat. For some reason, part of the place we were staying was surrounded by these fenced up areas where there were animals kept. In one area, there were two tigers, chained up, and in another there were two lions who were running free and the only thing keeping them from getting into the house we were staying in were a few doors. My family went walking outside and for some reason we went into this area with the wild animals. I went into the area with the tigers and even though they were chained up, and they were actually friendly though a little rough as you’d expect some playful kittens to be. The lions, I had this feeling as if they were more dangerous and I wanted to keep my family from them. I’d hurry to close gates and doors that they left open when I saw one of the lions come running towards it. Any ideas what this means?
Riley-11 says...
You’re anxious. Plain and simple, you have anxiety about something. The idea that you would rush to close doors that people opened when something potentially dangerous is around means that you are paranoid and and have anxiety that something bad is going to happen. I mean, who wouldn’t be afraid of lions getting into your house if the doors are open and they are near you. Try to figure out what the lion is representing as your anxiety and you’ll be fine. ^-^

Cheesy Dreams (Sweet Dreams)
Naomi, 16 from US writes...
I had a really strange dream last night.
I was in this long room with about 30 or 40 other people. I think we were living there. Richard Hammond from Top Gear, Me and a girl were in charge of protecting these 3 big blocks of red cheddar cheese. At one point it was just me watching the cheese and I noticed a fork lift was moving itself. I immediately knew that it was the enemy trying to steal our cheese so I went looking for Richard and the girl. I found Richard and I was trying to talk to him but he was talking to someone else so I just yelled ‘They’re going to get the cheese’.He looked at me and ran towards the cheese. Suddenly the bad guy were there and taking our cheese in bags. I knew it was our cheese even though it was now white cheddar. Then the girl turned up and she and Richard pulled out knives, and so did the bad guys. Then there was a big knife fight and I woke up.
Does this mean anything or am I just obsessed with cheese lol.

Um, this is actually a hard dream to decipher. But if I had to guess, I would say that yo had one of those dreams that are extremely weird that you have for absolutely no reason. I have those dreams all the time, for example: I once had a dream where everything in my school was covered in chocolate icing and we were sledding down it. I think that there was no purpose for the dream except to have a fun dream to laugh about later. I believe that this is what kind of dream you had. It was funny to me. I’m not sure if this will help you, but that’s what my view on it is.

Even More Weird Dreams (Sweet Dreams)
Donna, 17 from Tennessee writes...
I had a dream the other night that I was hanging around my dad, and I left for a while and came home to an ambulance taking off. My dad ended up dying of a drug Over Dose (cocaine). I was hanging around his moms house, and my uncle lives with her. And I was just walking around outside… I wasn’t upset and I wasn’t crying. I wanted to be upset but I couldn’t be.. I felt pain, but not pain for his death. I was mad… And I kept telling everyone to leave me alone. And everyone did..and everything just faded into white. Then I woke up.
Riley-11 says...
Well, dreams like this are hard to decipher as emotional feelings (such as grief) are present and they’re your feelings, not mine. The fact that you had a dream where a parent or family figure died is common for people who have dreams. Everybody has had a dream where someone has died. But in their dream they express grief differently too. The only thing I can really analyze is the death. When someone dies in a dream it generally means that the person is particularly on your mind right now, perhaps because you’ve been thinking about them or would like to interact with them, because a significant date (birthday, anniversary, etc.) is near, because you’re curious about how they are or what they might think about something in your life right now, etc.

Dreams of Family Feuds (Sweet Dreams)
Sterling, 16 from Tennessee writes...
Before I get started I wanted to add this. My sister is moving out upon her 18th birthday in September. And my mom and her have never gotten along. In fact my sister hates my mom because she’s a cruel sadistic person. She’s killed a baby kitten before just because it hadn’t learned to use the litter box. But here’s my dream:
I dreamt that my sister had woken up so she could catch her flight to move in with her boyfriend; My parents were suppose to take her. But my mom had crashed the car into the house so she said she couldn’t take her, And that’s why she crashed it.Then my sister went to my grandparents to get them to take her, and at first my mom called the cops on my sister, But finding out they couldn’t do anything. My mom killed my sister.
Riley-11 says...
You said that your sister hates your mother because she’s cruel and sadistic. (Quick question: do you feel the same way?) But does your mother hate your sister? I would have to say this dream has a representation of real life. Your mother is so cruel and sadistic that she killed your sister so she couldn’t get away from her. I’m not saying that your mother is going to kill your sister in real life, but your dream shows (in a sad way) the conflicts that your mother and your sister go through. Are you constantly around them when something like this happens, or do you try to leave the room? I’m not an expert or anything, but I think that you should try to figure out exactly what is going on between the two of them. And if that doesn’t work, just let everything take its course. I’m sure that your sister is going to be ok as soon as she moves out.
Hope this helped.

Peace From Dreams (Sweet Dreams)
hannah, 17 from Massachusetts writes...
I had this dream a few days ago that I was online and I was looking at this guy’s IM away message (I have liked him for a few years) and it said, “I am really horny and need to get myself some squeak”. I was taken aback from this because it was completely out of character, he’s normally extremely mature and business like, (and I have no idea what the hell squeak means).
Ever since I had this dream, I have been dreaming myself in different situations where I am, well, sexy, and attractive men lust after me! They all vary in age, and I would match their ages in each situation. This is not me! Why am I having these dreams, and what do they mean???
Riley-11 says...
Dreams like that could mean a lot of things. It most likely means that you have been thinking about the first dream a lot and that it has been on your mind for a long time. Dreams that usually have the same theme are associated with the fact that you have been thinking about it, either realizing it, or subconsciously. And the fact that in your dream the guy you like, ahem, pretty much asked for sex, it means that you wish you could have a relationship with him. (I’m only assuming that you don’t have one.). I hope this really helped.

Dreams About Scary Daycares (Sweet Dreams)
ashlee, 13 from California writes...
OK so I’m just going to go straight into the dream.
Well I’m doing child care in a dark room. A really really dark room. Then my dad comes to pick me up so I leave the room but am only out for about 10 seconds before I turn around to see if someone will walk me to my car because I’m scared. then when I go back everyone except one person is gone. Then all of a sudden I’m walking down the sidewalk. When we get to like this weird mansion place (by we I mean me and my two friends) one of my friends (lets call her Lucy) disappears. I freak out and I run around with my other friend (lets call her Mary) are running around looking for her. Then we find her in a darker room and I quickly turn around and then I’m alone in a hallway. Then I’m in my bed sleeping and I swear I didn’t know I was still dreaming I thought I woke up then I feel someone grabbing my ankle and I try to scream but nothing comes out. I still don’t realize that I haven’t woken up. In my dream I’m twisting a turning. I finally wake up and I realized it was all a dream but then every time I closed my eyes its all I saw. Please help it happened last night and I have a feeling I wont be able to sleep for days.
Riley-11 says...
It’s common to close your eyes and still see a bad dream after you have had one. That happens to me a lot, and it’s only because that’s what your mind if focusing on, the fact that you were afraid of something. I’m sure that if you try to take your mind off of it, then you won’t have the dream anymore. The idea that someone was in your house and grabbed your leg means that the dream conveys your sense of vulnerability and fear of others invading your space, either literally (physically) or figuratively (emotionally/mentally). Hope that helped and sweet dreams! ^-^

Dreams of Haunted Hotels (Sweet Dreams)
PJ, 19 from Massachussets writes...
OK so I just woke up from this dream crying. It started off with me in a hotel and I was just walking around. And then I was watching a football game (Chargers vs. Dallas Cowboys lol). My dad walked in while I was watching the game and said we need to go get the paper soon, so I said OK but needed to take a shower first. So I took a shower, and got kind of dressed up after in a dress. Then I walked around the hotel some more, and it seemed as though a wedding was going on. I ended up walking into a room where my dad who’s 75, and a bunch of his old friends were talking, and my mom was sitting at a table with someone. I sat down next to my mom and she was telling this guy that i wanted to be an oceanographer, I interjected and said f**k you mom! And proceeded to tell the man that I indeed had joined the Army (which I really have in real life), and the man told me I shouldn’t be so rude to my mother. I walked out and as I was walking down a hallway someone screamed “WATER!” I turned around and there was a huge wave coming from behind me. I ran covering my cellphone trying to keep it from getting ruined (if that could mean anything), and made it outside the hotel onto a porch. Then I was trying to figure out what to do, and then some guy and a small child showed up. He said lets jump in the water, and as I jumped someone screamed “NO there’s deadly bugs in the water!” So I started freaking out and swam back to the porch, and got out fine, but the man was screaming. He finally made it back and he got up and there were like bugs crawling all in his skin, and then his right hand fell off, and he dropped dead. At the end of my dream I was saying to myself “my dad is probably dead.” And then I guess it like fast forwarded because my dream ended with sad music playing, and my dad in a casket with a smile on his face. Then I woke up crying. What the heck does this all mean?! (sorry if it’s really long!”)
Riley-11 says...
I can honestly admit that if I had that kind of a dream, I would be too afraid to go near water at all for a while. Anyway, the things that came up the most for me was the fact that you were in a hotel and that there was a huge wave all of a sudden in your dream. Being in a hotel could mean that (in real life) you have the idea or feeling of being a guest, being waited on, and cleaned up after. From how old you are, I’m guessing that you live by yourself. I noticed that with my brother, who comes home from college every now and then, feels as if being home is different because its like we pushed him out and are now treating him like a guest (he doesn’t have his old room anymore.) Do you feel like you’re being a guest to someone in your life? The wave also stood out for me and that could represent overwhelm or a challenge in your life. Do you feel as if you’re being overwhelmed by something? Because it could just be a matter of stress that’s giving you these dreams.

Dreams of Dying Friends (Sweet Dreams)
KT, 17 from US writes...
The other night I had a really scary dream. My friends and I were driving somewhere and we went to park in a parking lot… the weird thing is that there was a rail road right next to it that we had to cross. The friend who was driving ended up not parking far enough in the parking lot so half of the car was on the tracks! And then, of course, a train started coming. Everyone got out of the car except for one person. As he tried getting out of the car the train came and hit him! I could hear everyone screaming and crying out to him - it was terrible! I’ve never had a dream like this! Usually when bad things are going to happen in my dreams I wake up before they actually happen, but this time I didn’t! I woke up very sad and confused. What do you think this dream could mean?
Riley-11 says...
Well, you said you have scary dreams like that before but you wake up before something bad can happen. It’s obvious that to make yourself feel better you had trained yourself to wake up before something bad happened, and this time it juts didn’t work. You were afraid that you fried had died in a car crash with a train. There are a lot of things that could come out of this kind of dream, but what really stands out to me the most is the fact that the dream could mean that you’re having some difficulty handling things in your life right now. Are you about to go to school? Or are you just suffering a lot of stress from a lot of things. Try to sort out what’s stressing you and to try and get through it and to see what your dreams do after that.

Dreams That Make No Sense (Sweet Dreams)
Alex, 18 from Canada writes...
Omg, I’m so embarrassed to even admit, or explain this dream, but it makes no sense, and its been bothering me ever since I’ve had it, and unlike my other dreams I remember it so detailed. In my dream I was in my house with my seven other roommates, there’s only seven rooms in the house but anyways we got a new roommate. (before I continue this roommate is a youtube celebrity I know embarrassing, I watch his videos but this was so weird.) Everyone else had met him already accept for me because I was sick, finally when I was better I had a shower and as I was headed back to my room I went to his and introduced myself. and it was just so weird, he came up to me and was like I’m [name] and then he asked me what I was taking and I said art then he asked what kind, and I said well, I paint, draw, sculpt, I do it all. Then he just got really close to me and smiled and and I said, I wouldn’t normally do this though, and then we, um got intimate and then fell asleep and I woke up and felt like that’s how I had fallen asleep, I’m pretty sure this dream has no meaning whatsoever but its all I think about, help !
Riley-11 says...
Well, I’m guessing that when you say you got intimate, you mean that you had sex. Considering that you had sex with a youtube celebrity it could mean one of two things. One, it could signify a replay of when you felt close to someone emotionally, mentally, or physically. Or two, you want to know him better. And because you like hi, I’m pretty sure that you at least want to meet and get to know him. ^-^. But I strongly feel that you were thinking about someone that you felt really close with.

Dreams About Leprechauns (Sweet Dreams)
Yvette, 16 from Canada writes...
About a week ago, I had a really bad dream. In my dream, I was being followed around by a leprechaun but he wasn't dressed like it. It was a man, like a small man probably the stature of around 2 feet. He would climb up the walls, laugh and giggle at me. His face was so scary and the scary thing was that no one could see him. I'd tell the people around me, "ugh he is getting really annoying and kinda creepy." They would look at me like I was nuts. I remember being really frightened in my dream. No one could see him, they wouldn't believe me. I got really frustrated at one point and as he came running between my legs, I stepped on him and threw him at my friend yelling "LOOK AT HIM!" Her face was pale but because she couldn't believe me. The little man went right through her and started laughing. I then got a knife from I don't know where and I killed him. It was gross and it felt so real. I woke up feeling so guilty and scared out of my mind. What could it possibly mean? I don't have anything against little people or anything but that dream really creeped me out! :ORiley-11 says...
This could be just one of those random scare dreams that make no sense. And it could also be a dream where it shows you that something is really bothering you in real life. You see, when you have a dream where you're being bothered by someone or something then it usually means that something is bothering you in real lifeāsuch as a person, a feeling (such as guilt), a problem or stressful situation. The fact that it manifested in a scary dream could mean that its trying to be brought to attention so you can do something about it. I hope I helped.Tags: let's talk about dreams
