Weirdest Celeb Baby Names (Scandalicious)

Jason Michael Lee (My Name is Earl) was engaged to actress Beth Riesgraf, and together they have a son named "Pilot Inspektor". The couple came up with the unusual name after listening to Grandaddy's song "He's Simple, He's Dumb, He's the Pilot."
Shannyn Sossamon has defended her choice to name her son “Audio Science”. The Knight's Tale beauty gave birth to her first child in June (03), and decided to name the tot after a word special to her. She explains, "We wanted a word not a name, so my boyfriend read through the dictionary three or four times."We were going to call him Science, but thought it might get shortened to Sci, as in Simon."
Gwen Stefani and her rocker husband Gavin Rossdale have a daughter named Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale. Zuma's name is also a bit of a mystery, so we've got some theories:
There is a beach in Malibu called Zuma where Gavin supposedly had an epiphany early one morning when he realized he wanted to be a famous rockstar. Big bro Kingston is also named after a location—Kingston, Jamaica, home to Bob Marley.
Nesta: This is Bob Marley's middle name—G&G kinda have a thing for the reggae legend, obviously. This part of I Am Legend must have really affected them.
Rock: Gavin's band falls into this genre of music, and Gwen has an album called Rock Steady, although her more recent work would be classified as pop. However, if they used the name "Pop," that could be traced back to an 'N Sync song and that's really not cool. Also, the whole family lives and dresses like rock stars, so it just probably seemed natural.
“Autumn”, “Sonnet”, “Ocean “and “True” are more commonly used as nouns and adjective, but they are also the names of Forest Whitaker's four children. The Oscar nominee gave them those unusual monikers because he wants each of them to be his own destiny's child in a way. “I want them to kind of touch their destiny by their names. Autumn is sort of flighty and Sonnet is much more of an artist…and True was very strong, and Ocean just has a big heart. He wants to be a veterinarian…He's been talking about it for years”.
Sting and Frances Tomelty are the parents of “Fuchsia”. The former musician of The Police appeal to the colors put to her second daughter Fuchsia Catherine.
“Bluebell Madonna” is the strange name chosen by the Spice Girl Geri Halliwell to her first child.
Nicolas Cage and Alice Kim are the parents of "Kal-El" (born October 3, 2005), named after Superman's birth name. Cage was once considered for the role of Superman in a film to be directed by Tim Burton.
"Ireland" Eliesse Baldwin, born October 23, 1995, is the daughter or Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger. I don't know why but her name is really weird! I wouldn't like to be called as a country.
Courteney Cox daughter's name “Coco” came from a compromise between her and her husband David Arquette. Because of her Southern roots she wanted to name her daughter Courteney Cox, as her mom is Courteney Cox and so is she. However, David is half Jewish and it is against Jewish tradition to name a child after a living person. So the name came from the nickname Courteney's friends had for her mother while Courteney was growing up. They called her Mama Coco.
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have a daughter named “Seraphina” Rose Elizabeth. Seraphina's name, which means fiery or ardent in Hebrew, comes from the Seraphim, the high order of six-winged angels. Spelled Serafina in Spanish and Italian, this elaborately feminine name is in step with the Isabellas and Gabriellas so popular today, yet is far more distinctive.

Teen Pregnancy - Your Thoughts (U Tell Us)
Hey, everyone! Here are your submissions from this week’s theme! What do all of your friends on PPJs think about teen pregnancy? Do you agree with them? Read below to find out!
It Is Preventable
Teen pregnancy makes me sad, because it's so preventable! 16 year-olds are not supposed to be having babies, they're supposed to be in high school having fun. I have a 1 year-old niece, and when I got out to the mall or something with her, I get a lot of "looks" from strangers, and I feel judged because they think she's my daughter. It's also so tiring to take care of her all day. I can only imagine the life of a real teen mother. I think it's incredibly unrealistic to assume all teenagers will be abstinent until marriage, which is why it's so important to practice safe sex and be careful!
liza, 19 from Florida
The thing about teen pregnancy that annoys me is that it is 100% preventable! Of course, if you forget about birth control (which, incidentally, many future teen parents did...) abstinence is the safest way to go. However, something as simple as realistic Sex Education in schools is another great preventive measure. Simply telling teens "Don't have sex!" isn't going to help stop the spreading of STIs or teen pregnancy. Sex Ed that covers all options, abstinence AND birth control, is the smartest thing for teenagers. You wouldn't believe how many pregnancies happened because some kids thought "pulling out" was a real method of birth control! Another myth - you can get pregnant if you have sex standing up. Widely heard and often accepted ideas such as these that often lead to teen pregnancies could easily be debunked in the classroom. Realistically, teen pregnancy is going to happen, but it could easily happen less often if schools ditched the religiously guided Sex Ed curriculum and integrated new and improved methods of dealing with the sexually active generation of teens.

It's a Big Deal
Teen pregnancy is a big deal. I'm speaking from first hand experience. I have a ten month old son. And not only am I a teen mom, I'm a single teen mom. His father has absolutely no participation in his life, at all. Don't get me wrong, my son is the most amazing thing that has every happened to me, I love him more than life itself, but there are so many things girls don't consider when they aren't being safe when having sex. I'm not going to sit here and tell people not to have sex at all, because I've been sexually active since I was 16, but if you're going to be sexually active at a young age, you should definitely be careful.

My Opinion
Leah’s comment: Teen pregnancy is a very common occurrence nowadays, which is sad and definitely preventable. I believe if you are going to be sexually active, you MUST use protection every time. Condoms, birth control - there are many other forms of protection that are accessible to almost everyone. And if something goes wrong, there’s the Plan B pill, which is not birth control but an emergency contraceptive. It’s not as reliable as regular birth control which is why you shouldn’t use it every time you have sex, but it’s a backup plan for those you are concerned with getting pregnant. I know many teenagers, mostly my friends who got pregnant at 15, 16 and 17, and their lives are changed drastically. Abstinence is the best option by far, but instead of preaching abstinence I’m going to tell you to always use birth control.
Secret Life of the American Teenager
If you have seen Secret Life of the American Teenager, you know what it's about, but I'm going to explain it just so people who don't know will know!
The show is about a girl, Amy, who has sex. It was only her first time, but she still got pregnant. In the first season, the show was circled around how hard it was for her in her day to day struggle to go to school and to be pregnant. But all around her, there was still drama going around with having sex. Basically, if you really look at it, the show is written around convincing teens not to have sex.
In the second season, Amy has the baby. It now shows her struggles of taking care of the baby. She is always tired and upset about how she can't do other things that normal high schoolers can do.
It really is a great show! Be sure to check it out!
(This show has a rating of PG – 13, so always get the “all – clear” from a parent if you are under 13.)
Next Time On U Tell Us:
Child beauty pageants. As you probably know, there are many beauty competitions out there. But how do you feel about children competing in them at as young as nine months old? Are you for it? Are you against it? Were you a child beauty pageant star? Submit, submit, and submit! See ya next time!
If you have any ideas for a theme you'd like to see, don't be shy, go ahead and submit it!

Period and Possible Pregnancy (Sex Ed 101)
lifes.good, 18 writes...
If you get pregnant a day or two before your expected period (let's say you have an irregular cycle), will you still have your period?Ivette says...
It's very unlikely to get pregnant two days before your period (even if you're irregular). Though, there is always the possibility that it might happen. Usually in a 28 day cycle, the first couple of days after your menstrual cycle, you enter a "Dry Period". As you get near the 15th day (when it's the most fertile) your vagina starts producing more discharge (the "Wet Period"), telling you your ovary is ready to release an egg. Between the 13th day to the 18th day, give or take, is when the risk of pregnancy is the highest. After your body goes into this "Wet Period" your body enters the dry period again. This means it becomes harder for sperm to reach the egg since it doesn't have the help of this humid mucous to impregnate you (this mucous also aids the egg to move through fallopian tube). Note: there still might be a chance that the sperms can reach it without the vagina's mucous helping. So, it is very unlikely you're pregnant if you had sex right before your cycle starts (since it's a "Dry Period"). Although, some women do have spotting when they get pregnant, it usually occurs after 2 weeks they had intercourse. Once you get your period, it's unlikely you're pregnant since this means your uterus is cleansing itself getting rid of the nutrients for that possible baby and depleting the egg. If your period is unusual, late or light, it doesn't hurt to take a pregnancy test. You can also see this video for further detail of what I explained!Tags: pregnancy, sex, advice, birth control, babies, condoms, periods, sex ed 101, ovulation
The Deal on Herpes (Sex Ed 101)
Embarrassed, 17 writes...
I've always been scared to ask this question, though I've known of this problem for three years now. My father carried on multiple affairs while he was married to my mom. In this time my mom suspected, but never knew. She finally divorced him when she was pregnant with me and found out he was currently and had carried on multiple affairs. Later (this is where we enter three years ago) my doctor diagnosed my mom with almost surely having herpes. (she couldn't be tested, but had a lot of the symptoms.) She had to of had this STD before she gave birth to me, there is no chance she has gotten it sexually after. Anyways, my mom gave birth to me vaginally and breast fed me, and I've got this awful fear in the back of my mind that I may have herpes. I don't know what to do though, I don't want to be tested because I feel so incredibly humiliated about the whole thing, and I don't want word to get out around my town either. Do you know if it is very likely I would have an STD passed down from my parents, or what I can do? I just want to pretend it's not a possibility.Brittany says...
Thanks for writing in with a great question! Here at Purple Pjs, you never have to be embarrassed or worried about asking a question, though. We're always open minded and never judge our readers... we're here to answer questions that you aren't ready or don't want to ask to anyone else!
Sexually transmitted diseases and their effects on a child when passed from the mother can be very tricky. What you need to know is that there are two types of herpes - HSV 1 and HSV 2. HSV 1 is the virus that causes cold sores, which as you probably already know is so common and nobody really thinks of it like "OhmyGod, you have... herpes!", but it still is herpes. HSV 2 is the virus that is known as genital herpes, which is what your mom was diagnosed with.
While genital herpes can be passed from mother to child when birthed vaginally, I can pretty much tell you that you do not have herpes from your mother because of this. Herpes isn't something that you can get via breast milk, either; It's a skin to skin spread disease. If you mother had sores on her nipples, this could be spread to you, but I'm sure by now you would have noticed because you would have sores around your mouth (which, keep in mind, could just be the normal cold sore!). It's way more common to have sores around the vagina, anyways... but you could always ask your mother if you're worried about that. Back to herpes and the vagina, though... if your mother had passed it on to you during delivery, it would be rather obvious and she would have been having her first outbreak at the time of birth, pretty much. You could have eye problems, or sores on your face, and a lot of the time, babies that get herpes through delivery may die or have brain damage.
I really don't think you have anything to worry about, dear. But here is some more information on Genital Herpes, if you wish to read up more on your own. It's always great to be educated!

Baby Maker (*laffs*)
The Smiths were unable to conceive children and decided to use a surrogate
father to start their family. On the day the surrogate father was to
arrive, Mr. Smith kissed his wife and said, "I'm off. The man should be
here soon" Half an hour later, just by chance a door-to-door baby
photographer rang the doorbell, hoping to make a sale.
"Good morning, madam. I've come to...."
"Oh, no need to explain. I've been expecting you," Mrs. Smith cut in.
"Really?" the photographer asked. "Well, good. I've made a speciality of
babies"
"That's what my husband and I had hoped. Please come in and have a seat"
After a moment, she asked, blushing, "Well, where do we start?"
"Leave everything to me. I usually try two in the bathtub, one on the
couch and perhaps a couple on the bed. Sometimes the living room floor is
fun too; you can really spread out!"
"Bathtub, living room floor? No wonder it didn't work for Harry and me"
"Well, madam, none of us can guarantee a good one every time. But, if we
try several different positions and I shoot from six or seven different
angles, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results"
"My, that's a lot of....." gasped Mrs. Smith.
"Madam, in my line of work, a man must take his time. I'd love to be in
and out in five minutes, but you'd be disappointed with that, I'm sure"
"Don't I know it," Mrs. Smith said quietly.
The photographer opened his briefcase and pulled out a portfolio of his
baby pictures.
"This was done on the top of a bus in downtown London"
"Oh my God!" Mrs. Smith exclaimed, tugging at her handkerchief.
"And these twins turned out exceptionally well, when you consider their
mother was so difficult to work with"
"She was difficult?" asked Mrs. Smith.
"Yes, I'm afraid so. I finally had to take her to Hyde Park to get the job
done right. People were crowding around four and five deep, pushing to get
a good look"
"Four and five deep?" asked Mrs. Smith, eyes widened in amazement.
"Yes," the photographer said, "And for more than three hours too. The
mother was constantly squealing and yelling. I could hardly concentrate.
Then darkness approached and I began to rush my shots. Finally, when the
squirrels began nibbling on my equipment, I just packed it all in."
Mrs. Smith leaned forward. "You mean squirrels actually chewed on your,
um......equipment?"
"That's right. Well, madam, if you're ready, I'll set up my tripod so we
can get to work."
"Tripod?????"
"Oh yes, I have to use a tripod to rest my Canon on. It's much too big for
me to hold for very long. Madam? Madam? ....... Good Lord, she's
fainted!!"
