School Girl Archive
Everyone experiences school at some stage in their lives. After all, in the first 25 years of our lives we spend most of it at an education institution!
Stuck for ideas?
Well, we're well into the school term now, and by now, you've probably got heaps of homework to do, plus dreaded projects. Sometimes it can be so hard to think of something that's unique and that no-one else will think of and use for their project - something original.
Here are some topics that might give you some ideas!

Project ideas
A timeline
If you have a special interest in a historic person, period or even an invention, present a timeline of it. For example - the history and development of the light bulb, or an author who is not as well-known as others.
Some controversy
For those of you who would like a challenge, research a controversial topic - abortion, the Iraq war, cloning etc. and try to find a different viewpoint or aspect of it, rather than simply presenting sides for and against it. Perhaps research what the reasons are behind these views.
How stuff works
Have you ever wondered how an MP3 player works? Or how a laser works? Or why the sky is blue? Wonder no more! RESEARCH!
A profession
Make a list of jobs that you'd consider doing after you finish school. Research one or more of these positions and present your findings and what it takes to be in the industry or job you've chosen.
Your faith
Another challenge - if you are religious or have a faith of some sort, explain your faith and perhaps even the reasons why you believe what you do.
Your school
Isn't it funny how you can go to a school for 2-5 years and not know a thing about it's history?! When I left school, we each got a book of the school's history as a leaving gift, it was really interesting (but a bit sad =( ) to read and I learn a lot. Research as much as you can about your school, maybe even try to get in touch with people who went to your school before you and who have left.
Life's unanswered questions...
This site, Crazythoughts.com has a few of life's unanswered questions that you can ponder, and perhaps attempt to answer!
So... CAN you cry underwater??
An invention
This one is especially good for science fairs.
If you have a specific problem in your house or at school, try and invent something that will fix it or solve the problem. For instance, my brother and my mother are notorious for leaving newspapers, magazines and clothes all over the couch in the loungeroom - so much that there is only room for one small person to sit down on it. So one of my solutions (although I'm not game enough to put it into practice) is to simply throw out whatever is left on the couch that is not meant to be there. Easy fixed!
Improving an invention...
I read an article where a girl and her class made a normal family car operate entirely on sunlight as a project for school and a fundrasier. If you've got an invention you really love at home, like a back scratcher, or a tea cosy, think of one way to make it even better. Maybe you could put line your mum's tea cosy with foil to see if the teapot would keep warmer!
A social experiment
Take one common myth about the human race/society/human nature in general e.g. - 'blondes are dumber than brunettes' and test it!
